Job Shadow Day

We had students from our Bridges Foundation come yesterday to learn what we do at the hotel. They went to many different departments and got to ask questions and see what happens in those areas. They were then treated to lunch. Everyone had a great time. Thanks to everyone who helped out with this event. The students were Joseph, Jamarlyn, Anthony and Sean.

A note from Bridges Foundation:
"Danielle, Sharon, Kevin and I want to thank you Janice, Cara, and John along with your entire hotel staff for giving our students a great Ground Hog Shadow Day, and for putting out the great snacks and fabulous lunch, as well as having the morning so beautifully planned out, it was amazing and truly had a positive effect on all of us, especially our students.

My student Anthony, who doesn't talk very much, couldn't stop talking all they way home, saying "it was so interesting to see how the rooms are kept up and how the sheets get ironed and folded from the same machine" and he really, really liked the kitchen.

Anthony thanked me for bringing him to the hotel as he wasn't really sure if he even wanted to go and also mentioned that he was anxious to begin reading Mr. Marriott's book as soon as he got home...it doesn't get any better than that!
So again, Thank you from all of us at Marriott Foundation Bridges
Sincerely,

Rick Mansfield"

Congratulations and thanks to Michelle Quintero in Events

This is a very nice email that was sent to Janice about our Michelle and our hotel:

"Murad celebrated its 20th anniversary at the Marriott Manhattan Beach Hotel January 20 through January 22. We had sleeping rooms, meeting rooms and meals at the hotel.

My Event Manager is Michelle Quintero whom I have had the pleasure of working with before. She is bright, efficient and really on the ball when it comes to planning our sales meetings. I couldn't have asked for a better person to work with.

As you can image this was a huge event for Murad. We had our distributors from all over the world come in for our meetings and we also had a company dinner on Wednesday, January 21 for about 350 people. All-in-all everything ran smoothly and our guests were treated graciously. Even though we had a few mishaps (which I totally expect since its such a large group), nothing through Michelle or the staff off - it was all taken care of quickly and professionally. Which I truly appreciate.

I hope to have more meetings at your hotel and to be able to work with Michelle again in the future.

Thank you for having such a wonderful employee."

A very nice compliment for Pablo in Banquets

We have Teleflora group in-house right now and this came from Michelle in Events:

"Hello all,

I just spoke to my contact Jenny. She was wondering who her very hardworking houseman was. She described him to me and per scheduling I am almost 100% sure it is Pablo. She said he is the nicest and has thanked her several times for holding their event at our hotel.

Do you know how awesome that is to hear! Please, please, please thank Pablo for me and I will do the same when I see him. His kindness has really meant a lot to the group!"

Kristin Hynes

Congratulations to Kristin Hynes, Senior Sales Manager, our Leader of the 3rd Quarter. Kristin, you do such a great job selling our hotel - we all thank you!

He traveled a long way to join our team - Tim Cooper

Have you noticed a little different "English" being spoken at our hotel? Well, that is our new Director of Engineering - Tim Cooper. Tim comes to us from the Bristol Marriott City Center. He has been with Marriott 3 years. He comes with a lot of knowledge and enthusiasm. Please welcome Tim to our team. On the left of Tim is Gabriel Sandoval, his assistant. Gaby is probably the happiest that Tim is finally here.
